Ferrari 550 Barchetta from the Gran Turismo collection for sale

Just over 3 years ago, RM Auctions announced the launch of the Gran Turismo collection, which was the brainchild of property entrepreneur and major Ferrari collector Jon Hunt. Its fair to say that all the cars in the collection were reference examples of a theme, to Group B rally cars, legendary Supercars and of course superb Ferrari models.

This Barchetta was 1 of 448 made and only 42 RHD UK models and was owned by Hunt from new, being registered on 1 August 2001. On 18 September 2001, he approached Koenig-Specials, placing an order for a "6 end pipes" stainless steel exhaust and over the next 22 years, he used this 550 Barchetta sparingly, with the odometer reading just 4,753 miles at the conclusion of his ownership. In 2015, Hunt took the decision that all his open Ferraris should be yellow, and had this example resprayed in Giallo Fly by Dick Lovett Ferrari.

Finding a new home 3 years ago this beautiful Barchetta still presents as new and has covered a mere 4861 miles or 108 miles in the last 36 months.
